Join fellow Cornellians for a Sunday afternoon performance of "Felix and Fanny" at the beautiful Cabot Theater in Beverly, MA. Felix Mendelssohn's older sister, Fanny, was an equally gifted composer and a virtuoso pianist. Although her talents were nurtured by her family, Fanny was nonetheless discouraged in pursuing a career in music. Join SBS and young guest violinist virtuoso, Joshua Brown, in a celebration of this extraordinary sister-brother relationship.
Symphony by the Sea is the premier professional orchestra north of Boston. Established in 1981 by the late Royston Nash, former Music Director of London’s D’Oyly Carte Opera Company, it provided a group of talented professional musicians a local alternative to community orchestras. Built in 1920 as an 800-seat theater in the grand style of 1920's movie palaces, the Cabot Theater combines classic design with contemporary sound, HVAC, seating and other amenities.
On entering the theater, please sign in at the Cornell table on your right.
General seating. No reserved seats. After the concert, optional dinner together at a nearby restaurant. Please email Arnold Nadler at ardnadler@aol.com if you would like to attend dinner so he can make a reservation and communicate details directly.
