The Cornell Club of Boston is pleased to host Cornell alumnus, Boston University professor, and recently published author Leora Halpern Lanz ‘85 for an intimate dinner and discussion of her new book, Developing Your Marketing Mindset: Real-World Lessons from Hospitality.
About the book: Everyone should have a marketing mindset. Whether you're an entrepreneur or an intrapreneur; whether marketing is in your title, or not. Whether you are in hospitality and tourism or any other service business where you work with people. Whether you're marketing your product or service or you’re marketing yourself. This is a business book with a heart. It asks, how do we connect meaningfully? How do we share authentic support of a customer's wellness, the earth's sustainability, or the community's needs? Through simple case studies of familiar and relatable hospitality marketing challenges, readers can shift their mindset and appreciate the importance of conscious marketing and responsible hospitality.
About the author: Leora Halpern Lanz ’85 is an award-winning hospitality marketing strategist and professor at Boston University’s School of Hospitality. She teaches the senior-year required Experiential Marketing course (which she also created) and the graduate-level Digital Marketing Strategies elective, as well as the online and on-campus versions of the Introduction to Hospitality class. Leora is a founding Advisory Board member of the nonprofit Center for Responsible Hospitality and has been recognized by numerous hospitality industry organizations and publications for her expertise and influence in the field.
