'Ithaca Diaries' Reading and Discussion with Author Anita Harris '70

  • Venture Cafe at the Cambridge Innovation Center 1 Broadway, Fifth Floor Cambridge, MA, 02142 United States (map)

Anita Harris '70, author of the new book, Ithaca Diaries: Coming of Age in the 1960s, has offered to give a talk on her book and experience during one of the most turbulent times in Cornell history. We hope you'll join the Cornell Club of Boston for this special opportunity. Cornell profiled the book in its December 2014 Ezra Update.

In her book, Anita recounts a cataclysmic era on campus that included South African divestiture, the Straight Takeover, Vietnam War protests, and the beginnings of feminism and gay rights. With activities celebrating Cornell's 150th anniversary this year, it is an exciting time to look back on the monumental events that shaped campus and who we are as a university and alumni body.

Alumni of all ages are invited to contribute their perspectives to a dynamic discussion with Anita as she shares her stories and inspiration for the book. One reviewer said the book made him "laugh, cry, and wish [he'd] been at Cornell at that time."
