Cornell's Gay and Lesbian Alumni Association (CUGALA) New England, the Cornell Club of Boston, and the President's Council of Cornell Women cordially invite you to an evening with the Boston Blades, Boston's own professional women's hockey team! On Saturday, November 15th at 6:30pm, the Boston Blades will take on the Toronto Furies at UMass Boston's Clark Athletic Center. Join your fellow Cornell alumni before the game to meet Blades Head Coach and Cornell Athletics Hall-of-Famer Digit Murphy '83. A couple of lucky attendees will even be selected to drop the puck to start the game!
While playing for Cornell Big Red women's ice hockey, Murphy was a four-year letter winner as well team captain in her junior and senior years. She was named 1981 Ivy League Player of the Year and was inducted into Cornell Athletic Hall of Fame in 1994. Throughout her career, she racked up 123 goals and 90 assists.
Cornell alumni will sit together to root for the Boston Blades during the game. After the game, please join Digit Murphy with CUGALA New England and CCOB organizers for a meet-and-greet at the local pub, Harp and Bard. Light appetizers as well as a cash bar will be provided.
