Join other Cornell alums with their families and friends in rolling up our sleeves for children living in homeless and low-income situations. We'll work together in groups to sort donations and prepare care packages for individual children in need, providing high quality clothing, books, toys, and school essentials.
It promises to be a high-energy and fulfilling two hours!

How to Prepare for the Event

As volunteers, we'll work in stations to inspect, sort and package donations alongside other individuals and groups. Our volunteer shift will begin with an orientation led by a Cradles to Crayons staff member and end with a wrap-up and an opportunity to learn the number of children we impacted during our shift.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before our scheduled start time.
What to wear:
The Giving Factory is a warehouse environment and it is not climate-controlled. Volunteers are encouraged to wear closed-toed shoes and layered clothing they do not mind getting dirty.
What to bring:
Please spread the word about our upcoming event and encourage friends and family to donate gently-used items that you can bring to your volunteer shift. In addition to gently-used items for children aged 0-12, Cradles is in critical need of items for children aged 0-3:
- Convertable car seats
- Pack and Plays
- Travel systems (stroller and car seat combination)
- Safety items like outlet covers and doorknobs covers
- Newborn diapers
- Hygiene Items like diapers wipes, baby nail clippers, baby lotion and body wash
- Baby board books
Parking:
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before our scheduled start time. The Giving Factory is located at 155 North Beacon St., Brighton, MA, 02135. On-street parking is available on North Beacon Street and Etna Street. (Please do not park in the New Balance parking garage or in spaces designated for CORT Furniture.) Cradles to Crayons apologizes for any inconvenience as construction around their building continues.
